A friend invited me to a wine tasting plus a 3-course dinner for $25 (at some restaurant downtown). It sounds like fun, but since I had to buy those new ski boots ($430), I can’t afford to be spending money on things like that this month. So I told her the truth – that it’s not in my budget this month – but suggested we get together soon to do something a little more low key. :)
BF and I were supposed to go skiing tonight, but he forgot our passes at his house … so I doubt we’ll be going. I suggested snowshoeing, but I think secretly he wants a day off from physical activity. So if that’s the case, then I’ll either go home and do absolutely nothing (which would be nice). Or call my friend and see if she wants to go to the gym. But it’s such a gorgeous day, it’d be a shame to waste it inside or at the stuffy rec centre gym! I’m pretty sure I’m getting sick. Well. I’m not totally sure. But my throat is kind of scratchy, and that’s a bad sign. I’m trying to sleep more and always stay warm (and make sure I get lots of fluids and vitamin C), but it’s so hard when there’s so many fun things to do. We’ve been trying to figure out the best (and most cost-effective) way to start off our traveling next year. We’ll be heading out in July 2010, and ideally we want to try to time our trip so that we work the northern countries (whatever part of Europe we touch & Russia) during the summertime, and then be down in India/SE Asia during the winter. But when it all comes down to it, ease of travel and the least amount of flying are what’s going to affect us the most.
