Keeping up with my fitness

Last night we went skiing after work. It was a lot of fun, despite feeling a bit woozy. It might have been from not eating much all day, then scarfing down a light dinner, then driving (I get car sick really easily). At any rate, I started to feel better once I got going. And I think I’m finally getting the hang of it. I need to be a lot less timid. I want to go fast, but I’m scared of bailing. I need to learn that it’s not the end of the world to fall down.

After skiing, we hit up the climbing gym. It was crowded so we only stayed for about an hour. The crowds don’t bother me, as most people were there to boulder, but BF hates it when it’s crowded, so I tried to get in as many climbs as possible. I’m starting to attempt 5.11 routes now. I’m in this annoying in-between stage, where I can do most 5.10s after a few tries, but I’m definitely not strong enough to do 5.11s. I think I’ll be here for a while.

I’m going to the gym tonight with a friend (I think my cardio will be the stair master today – I want to get stronger legs so I’m less of a burden when we go hiking this summer), and then hopefully this weekend we’ll be able to go climbing again, and possibly skiing (depending on the weather – the season is ending soon).
