I don’t want to get sick!

I’m pretty sure I’m getting sick. Well. I’m not totally sure. But my throat is kind of scratchy, and that’s a bad sign. I’m trying to sleep more and always stay warm (and make sure I get lots of fluids and vitamin C), but it’s so hard when there’s so many fun things to do. But I’m not sick yet, so I’m going to keep doing what I normally do.

Last night BF and I went skiing. It was pretty fun. More fun than the last 2 times I went, where I was in pain both times. I’m slowly getting more confident and I’m going faster too. I think my problem was that I wasn’t distributing my weight properly, so now that I’ve kind of got the motion, I’ll be a lot faster. I’m also still timid. I want to go fast, but I’m not confident in my ability to stop. I don’t think anything would be more embarrassing than losing control, knocking down a bunch of people (mostly kids) and going flailing down the hill like in a cartoon, only to end up in a heap at the bottom, with everyone in the lift line just staring and laughing at you. Not that that’s my ultimate skiing nightmare or anything. That would have to either be skiing into a tree (and face-planting into it), or not being able to stop at the end of a run, falling through the plastic fencing, and hitting just about every tree on the way down. With everyone watching of course.

After skiing, we went climbing at the gym. We didn’t stay long – maybe an hour or so. BF’s shoulders were feeling weird from when he went hiking on Sunday. I think I only did 4 or 5 routes, but that’s okay. I think we’ll try to go again on Thursday.

I was thinking about tracking my cost-per-session for skiing and climbing, since I’m such a money nerd. I think it would be really interesting to see how much I’m actually paying to go skiing and climbing each time. I like getting the most value for my money, so to actually see in dollars and cents how much it costs to do the things I enjoy would make it even cooler for me. I’ve been tracking when I’ve been going through Google Calendar, so perhaps I’ll geek out one of these evenings and put up preliminary numbers.
