I want to do my taxes right now

I’m just dying to do my taxes right now … but I have a ton of paperwork that I have to wait for, and up until now, I’ve only gotten one T4 from my PT job back at home. I might have slightly miscalculated how much I’m getting back for my tax return. I forgot to factor in my personal business deductions, as well as the fact that last year I was making significantly less than I’m making now. And … I still don’t know where I’m going to get my taxes done. I got mine done last year for … Continue reading

Yesterday after work I went to the Asian grocery store to pick up some fresh produce. 3 bulbs of garlic 1 apple 3 bananas 1 bag of baby mandarin oranges 1 red pepper 1 red onion organic lemonade 4 packages of udon noodles TOTAL = $11.47 I’m still so amazed why people buy their produce from Safeway, when the same items there would have cost at least $20. Although, I do need to go to Safeway either today or tomorrow to pick up some essentials that the Asian store doesn’t carry.

Cashing in credit card rewards points

I’ve decided to stop using my PC Financial Mastercard anymore (unless I’m shopping at Superstore), because I get better rewards with my CIBC Visa and Amex. Which is great, because there is a Blockbuster right down my street, and I have 2 movie dates with a few girlfriends this month (going to see Confessions of a Shopaholic and He’s Just Not That Into You). Very excited for both of those … Continue reading

January Budget Recap

Income (after tax): $3,157.13 So as you can see, I went over by $109.82. Not too bad, considering the $251.46 I paid in the Miscellaneous category was for a 12-month membership to our rock climbing gym. I went over in Food because my sister came to visit and we ate out basically for every meal. I also went over in Transportation because I paid for all of her bus fare while she was visiting. Thankfully I saved money by not having to pay my cell phone bill (paid December’s bill twice by accident), and I didn’t buy any clothing.
