Do you own a netbook?

I’m going to buy a netbook for our trip next year, but I’ve been thinking that perhaps I should look into buying one now. Not NOW now, but soon. I have the money in my Travel Fund, and I’m going to buy one anyway – plus I would really like one sooner rather than later so that I can be more productive when I’m on the ferry, or back at home, or at BF’s house (he has a computer, but we’re always fighting over internet time!).

I don’t want to rush into buying anything, and I want to do a lot of research before I finally do decide on one, and that research starts now. I know that I don’t want to spend more than $500-600, and that I want a long battery life, a big hard drive, and it also the lighter the better.

My first instinct is to look into these 2 brands: Acer and Asus Eee PC. This is a really good article that compares both of them together.

Anybody out there have a netbook?
