ING Canada profits drop 75%

ING Canada reported a fourth-quarter net loss Monday of $64.1 million, and is expected to cut 7,000 jobs. Yikes. For those of us who have money in ING accounts right now, should we be concerned?

February 2009 Budget

So I decided that, instead of having one set budget that I follow month-to-month, I would revise and tweak the budget each month to accommodate things that might not happen in other months. My goal is to keep my monthly expenses around $1,500/month. Some months I’ll be over, some months I’ll be under. So below is February’s budget. This past weekend was super relaxing. On Saturday, BF worked hard to build a fireplace at his house. I sat around and watched TV (NHL Super Skills competition – boring!), cross-stitched, and generally did nothing. I don’t even think I got out of my PJs. We made fajitas for dinner and then watched Bangkok Dangerous that night. Awful movie. Just terrible. Over at We Need to be Debt Free, JW listed me as an inspiration – someone who has been able to get out of debt. A commenter wrote something that I really feel like I need to respond to. Mike P said…I would NOT put Give Me Back My Five Bucks on this list. If you read her blog she routinely puts things on her credit card, mot of the time they do get paid off in the next month, but a job loss or other crisis will put her steep in debt (with a tiny EF).
