Who else is Twittering?

So I’ve signed up for Twitter. Apparently you can follow me via the Twitter website, but I’ve also set up an app on my sidebar. I still don’t really get what it’s all about.
From what I gather, it’s exactly like Facebook, if all Facebook did was status updates. If anyone else is using Twitter, let me know, and I can … follow you? Or something.
