Final cost of the cruise

So the final cost of the cruise to Alaska was $802 CAD per person ($679 + $123 fees). That also includes a $50 US on-board credit for each of us.

I checked out the shore excursions available to us, and most are completely out of our price range. There are a few I wouldn’t mind checking out, namely the rock climbing one, and the hiking – but I know my sister wouldn’t be into it, plus they’re still pretty expensive for what they are … so I doubt we’ll do any of that.

Also, we have to figure out how to get down to Seattle – which is where our cruise starts. My sister is going to take the Clipper from the island, which is about $100 round trip. I’m probably going to take the bus, since I’ll be coming from Vancouver.

Since the cruise is Friday-Friday, I asked BF if he wanted to meet me in Seattle to catch a Mariners game over the weekend I get back. That way, we could also go walk the market and the pier, and check out the Crab Pot Restaurant, which we’ve both been wanting to do since last summer. Plus, the new Mountain Hardware store they just built.

Last year I went to Seattle 3 or 4 times, and I just can’t afford to do that this year. If we end up doing this, then it’ll probably be the only trip down we make this year. Unless I go for a day game earlier in the season.

Anyway, I’m estimating that the cruise and hanging out in Seattle with BF, in total, will cost about $1,300. And that’s being totally generous. That’s an additional $500 above and beyond the cost of the cruise.
