Camping this weekend

A few nights ago, I went out with some friends to Earls. It was a really good time catching up with them. As expected, everyone was too hungry to share a meal with me. So I bought a chicken sandwich with a side salad – the pastas were cheaper, but I don’t eat pasta. After tax and tip, it came to around $16. Not too bad, but not great either. The girls all ordered at least 2 drinks each, but I didn’t get one. Even though their bellinis were on special for $4.

Tomorrow, BF and I are going to one of the Gulf Islands for some camping. I am so excited! We were originally going to walk on the ferry and park his car at the terminal. But parking is $10/day, so it would cost us about $25 to park the car … whereas to take a car across would only be $29.70. So we’re taking the car across. :) It’s a good idea b/c there isn’t a taxi service on this particular island anymore, so we’d have to either hitchhike (which I refuse to do), or walk. In the dark. In the rain. Late at night. No thanks!

So, the ferry will cost us about $50 round trip ($29.70 for a car, and $9.20 for each of us). Plus the cost of camping food. We still have most of our camping food from last weekend, we just need to buy some fresh veggies and fruit. Maybe a few more snacks. Then off we go!
