Wow. That wasn’t hard at all. So I have already technically sold my scooter. I put it up on Craigslist, and about 5 people e-mailed me back. However, a very good friend of mine just got married and is looking for a second vehicle – but can’t afford a car. He asked about my scooter, but can only afford to pay me $1,700 (I was asking $2,100 but was hoping for $1,800) … and he can’t buy it until February (once he’s saved up enough money). He said he definitely wants to buy the scooter, as long as I’m willing to wait for him.
Since I’m not in a rush to sell the scooter, I think I’m going to sell it to him. I could probably get a few hundred dollars more if I sold it to someone off Craigslist, but I want to help him out, and I like the idea of selling my scooter to someone I know. He’ll take good care of it.
The only thing I’ll be losing is 3 month’s worth of insurance … which is only about $50, so I’m not too concerned. I’m sure he’d pay me an extra $50 for the hassle of holding the scooter until February, but it’s not that big of a deal to me.

[...] Remember my friend that was supposed to buy my scooter? Well, turns out he can’t anymore. Not because he doesn’t want to, and not because he doesn’t have the money saved up … but because he just found out that his wife is pregnant! :) And they need to use the money he had saved up for my scooter. The pregnancy wasn’t planned – they were hoping to get pregnant in a few years once they had saved up more money. But they are so thrilled and I am VERY happy for them. [...]
