Give Me Back My Five Bucks

This Friday, BF and I are going to go hiking on the island for the long weekend. It’s my birthday trip, so I’m really excited. We’re supposed to get nice weather too, so that’s an extra bonus. Today BF is borrowing a truck from his work, and we’ll be moving all my stuff into my new apartment after work – finally. I’ve been trying to minimize the things I’ll need to buy, but tops on the list are: an area rug, a shower curtain (there currently isn’t one), a second rack for my shoes, and a dresser for my bedroom. Other non-essentials include: a new flat screen TV (ha, I wish), some sort of bedside table, a couple of lamps, and a mat for the front door. Well I’m back in Vancouver after an exhausting long weekend in Ontario. I rolled into Toronto at around 7:30am on Thursday morning (now I remember why I don’t fly the red eye). Thankfully, my hotel let me check in early. So I took a 45 min. power nap, had a quick shower, and it was off to the Hockey Hall of Fame! One word: AMAZING. What an incredible place. A woman from my old job just called me – they still haven’t hired anyone for my position yet – and word on the street is that they’re not going to hire anyone so that they can see how much work my ex-boss can actually do (which is basically nothing). Their annual reviews are this month, so it’ll be interesting to see what happened. Yesterday evening, BF treated me to dinner (my place is a disaster area – boxes everywhere, and everything packed away, plus no food in the fridge – otherwise we would have made something at my place).
