Yesterday was my birthday, and it was a good day for sure. I got lovely phone calls and e-mails from friends and family, and after work, BF took me out for all-you-can-eat sushi. :) He also showed me what he got me for my birthday (it’s being ordered) – an ice axe, a pair of crampons, and a rock climbing helmet – all from Petzl. Not to mention the Arc’teryx jacket he got me last week! They were definitely all things that I’ve wanted and will need to go hiking this winter, but still … those things aren’t cheap!
Tomorrow I’m going back home to the island. I’m going to see a concert with a friend Friday night. Advanced tickets were only $5, so it’s not going to be an expensive evening. Probably a couple of beers – less than $20 for the night when it’s all said and done.
Saturday I am going out for breakfast with a friend – so probably about $13. Then, I was supposed to have a hair appointment ($67 after tip), but I canceled it. I’m going to try a hair salon right by my new apartment – it’s about $40, and I can probably wait another 3-4 weeks to get a cut.
I also have a field hockey game Saturday afternoon, which I’m really excited about. I have to pay my fees though, so that’s $85 for the year (I already paid a $50 deposit and $60 for insurance) – which is why I canceled my hair appointment.
Saturday is my birthday dinner. My mom is going to set up the hot pot, and it’ll just be my parents, BF, and my sister and her BF. Saturday night I’m supposed to go to a friend’s house warming party, so I’ll probably stop by. I’ll probably just “borrow” a few beers from my parents fridge, which will save me a trip to the beer store.
Sunday I’m going for brunch with my grandma. After that, my sister and I are going to the tattoo parlour so that I can have a consultation – she’s paying for a new tattoo for me for my birthday! :) And then Sunday evening, I think I might be going over to BF’s grandparents house for dinner. I’ve never met them before, so I hope this actually happens.
Total cost for the weekend … probably about $150 – but that includes my field hockey fees for the year. BF said that if he doesn’t take the ferry with me tomorrow evening (he might have to work on Saturday, so he’d come over sometime that afternoon) he would be able to drive me to the ferry terminal tomorrow after work, so I won’t have to worry about taking the bus (which I’m glad about, because taking my field hockey gear on a busy, packed bus really, really sucks).
Anyway, those are my weekend plans. What are you up to?
