The new apartment

I’ve spent the past 2 nights moving and organizing my stuff in my apartment. A lot of things are still at my old place, but we won’t have time to go get it until Friday after work.

Over all, I love my new apartment, but there are some things that really irritate me – no light fixture in the bedroom – unless I plug in a floor lamp or a table lamp, there’s nothing. Last night, I was stumbling around, trying to get ready for bed. Another really annoying thing is there’s no outlet in the washroom, so I’ve been having to blow dry my hair in the kitchen! I’ll probably mount a mirror in the hallway, but even that’s kind of a pain. Oh well.

Next week sometime I think we’re going to go to IKEA. I’ll need to get 3 or 4 lamps, an area rug, a bookshelf, a dresser, and perhaps a CD/DVD shelving unit. I also want to get an oversized chair, but that will probably have to wait for a while. They’re kind of expensive.
