A woman from my old job just called me – they still haven’t hired anyone for my position yet – and word on the street is that they’re not going to hire anyone so that they can see how much work my ex-boss can actually do (which is basically nothing). Their annual reviews are this month, so it’ll be interesting to see what happened.
Anyway, she wants to hire me on a contract to train someone internally how to update the website using the FTP server. She said that it would be during the evenings so it won’t take away from my new job, and I won’t have to run into my ex-boss.
So I think I’m going to agree to do it. It’s extra money, and I do feel bad that there isn’t anyone there to do any of the website/graphic design stuff. I told her that I would call her when I get back from Ontario, and we’ll take it from there. I doubt this will take more than 5-10 hrs, so it’s not like it’s a huge commitment. However, if they want me to become their external graphic designer (since the other one quit as well), that’s something I’m really going to have to think about. There’s no way I could do that kind of work without interacting with my ex-boss, and I’m not sure I’d be willing to do that.
