Back from camping

This past weekend I went camping with 2 good friends. It was a really fun time, despite being poured on for most of the weekend. My only complaint was that it wasn’t warm enough to go for a dip in the lake.

All in all, I spent about $100 for 3 nights of camping – which included food, alcohol, firewood and camping fees. Pretty cheap for a great weekend away with the girls.

BF came up yesterday morning to help us tear down the site (he had driven me up there on Friday and helped to set up the site as well). Then he drove me all the way home, and he treated me to a yummy dim sum lunch.

I also had to go and buy my first Vancouver bus pass. Not happy. It was $73 for a one-zone pass, which to me, is ridiculously expensive. That’s the cost of car insurance for a month! And what’s silly is, my pass is only good for one specific zone (Metro Vancouver is made up of 3 different zones) – so if I happen to be in another zone and want to travel within that zone, I have to buy a bus ticket. I can’t just use my bus pass. Anger.

Anyway, I’ve started to take a look at rentals around the area of town that I work in – somewhere central and in between my work and BF’s work. Preferably within walking distance of my work, or at least on a bus line with no transferring required. And I’d definitely want to live in a suite in a house – it’s generally cheaper than an apartment, and usually all utilities are included. Plus, I don’t feel like I’m living in a shoe box when I live in a house. We’ll see what happens.
