An update on the job situation August 13, 2008
Posted by gmbmfb in : job , trackbackI applied for a job at BF’s work – just at a different location than him. It’s an Event Coordinator job, and I thought I would at least get an interview because the posting was internal (they encourage employees to recommend their friends), and I was fully qualified.
But it’s been over a month, and I haven’t heard anything. They have since put the posting up on their website, so I’m assuming they didn’t think I was qualified or a good fit for them. Which is sad, because I would have loved to work there.
Tomorrow, a woman from HR is visiting the site where BF works, and he’s going to casually enquire as to whether they’ve even conducted interviews yet for the position.
In other job-related news, I applied for a Marketing/Communications position with another not-for-profit here in Vancouver. This one is a little more senior than the role I have now, and has a starting salary of between $50-60k. I’m qualified, so I hope they call me. The posting doesn’t end until Mid-September, so my fingers are crossed that they’ll conduct rolling interviews if they see a candidate that is the right fit for them.
