A couple of weeks ago, I received a sponsored post request from someone. She was interested in buying a post from me, and thought my blog would be a good fit for her client. After going back and forth for a bit, we finally agreed on a price and on the content of the article. I wrote the article, submitted it to her, and it was approved. So I posted it on my website and waited for payment.
Well, I got an e-mail this morning simply stating that she wasn’t able to pay me because her client doesn’t want sponsored posts on websites that link to PayPerPost.
I was pretty pissed off. I took the time to write the article and submit it … and I placed it on my website for 4 days … and then she decides to tell me what her client doesn’t want? It’s obvious that I link to PayPerPost. It’s the 2nd thing on my sidebar, and there’s a huge PPP graphic that says HIRE ME. Plus, I have a disclosure policy on the bottom of my sidebar.
If she had taken the time to actually scroll down 3 inches on my blog, she would have noticed it. But instead, she didn’t (or she did, and just wanted 4 days of free advertising on my blog). And now I feel frustrated because I wasted my time writing and researching a thoughtful blog post.
So. THANKS.
