Interview coming up on Monday

I have an interview for a Communications Coordinator position on Monday with a pretty amazing organization. Actually, I’m surprised that I even got an interview, considering they were looking for a minimum of 5 years of experience, and I only have 2. I’ve been in this situation before (relatively inexperienced and asked to come in and interview for a position I’m not technically qualified for) … sometimes I’ve been offered the job, but most of the time I’ve been passed up because of my lack of experience. But the fact that I’m even getting interviews for these types of positions is really encouraging.

And because I’m getting interviews, I’m going to keep pushing myself and applying for these types of jobs. You never know, right? Remember that job I got offered in Northern Alberta? They said that they knew I wasn’t exactly qualified for the job, but they saw something special in me, and were willing to take a chance – and that job was a huge deal. So. It could happen again. Not that I’m not being realistic about my situation. I would only apply for positions in which I know I would be capable of doing the job.

The salary range is $50k-$58k … so right around where my target is. Plus, I know for a fact that this organization has an amazing extended health & benefits plan, and at least 5 weeks of vacation per year to start. People kill to work for organizations like this one.

Anyway, another job closed today that I’ve applied for. It looks like an amazing opportunity with a great company. I really want to at least get an interview … so the suspense in waiting for a phone call is killing me.
