I can’t believe the weekend is almost over! I had a wonderful time back on the island. My dad’s birthday party was great. The food was awesome, and it was nice to see all my relatives again. BF and I spent a few hours downtown today. We went to the Fisgard St. market, and then to MEC. I had to buy a new sleeping bag & pad, and some other miscellaneous camping gear for this coming weekend. I also need to get some hiking clothing, a light rain jacket, and a backpack. It’s not going to be cheap, but BF … Continue reading
My boss at my PT job mentioned to my sister that they might be looking to hire a graphic designer on a contract basis. I fired off an e-mail to him today, telling him that I would love the opportunity to design their brochures for them (they produce anywhere from 4 to 12 brochures a year), and told him that the next time I’m in town, I could bring around my design portfolio to him. My fingers are crossed! This could be an awesome ongoing contract for me. And I’m kind of the obvious candidate for the position, since I’ve … Continue reading

I wish I could remember what blog that was, so I could link to it. Oh well. :)
Last night, I went over to BF’s house, and he cooked me a yummy dinner (wild rice, fish & steamed broccoli). So, tonight he’s coming over to my place and I’m going to make him dinner. :) Nothing fancy though, b/c I’m not a very good cook. Probably something simple like vegetarian tacos. I just have to stop at the store on the way home to pick up an onion. I also saw a delicious recipe for shepherd’s pie, using squash as well as potatoes. I don’t really like eating potatoes, but I kind of want to try it out. … Continue reading

In fact, it kind of disgusts me how little I ended up saving (I kept putting $$ into my Travel Fund, but spent more than I deposited … so that was kind of lame). I had to pay off a bunch of pricey things this month: $75 – Wolf Parade concert tickets. For BF and I. We’ll be meeting up with 2 of my friends at the show. Plus it’s at the Commodore, which is going to rock. $210 – Backstreet Boys concert tickets. The other girls are paying me … Continue reading
