I took $350 out of my Travel Fund
I just bought my mom the best Christmas present EVER. I know it’s June, and it’s a little too early to be thinking about Christmas – but seriously, I rock.
She’s getting a weekend guided kayaking trip for 2 around the gulf islands (scheduled for next May) – gear, accommodation and food are all included, so she doesn’t have to worry about anything. The trip will come with 1 or 2 guides, depending on where they end up going. Regular price of this trip is approximately $800, but I got it for $350 since I bid on it at a silent auction and won. :)
This is the kind of trip that I would have loved to go on – I was thinking of keeping it for myself, but I know my mom would definitely enjoy this a lot more than I would. She’s a really big rower, and has been on a team for the past 9 years. So I’m hoping to go kayaking sometime soon with Z or BF. Or maybe even go on a day kayak with my mom!
My sister and I always go halvesies on our parents’ presents, so she’ll be paying me back for half the next time I see her. And I didn’t want to take the $$ out of my Travel Fund, but my Gift Fund has $0 in it, so I didn’t exactly have a choice.
