Random thoughts on a Saturday night

The original plan for the weekend was to catch the 7am or 9am ferry back to the island … but I don’t think I fell asleep until 2am last night, and I hadn’t even packed my overnight bag … so needless to say, I caught the 1pm. :) Although, in order to make the 1pm, I had to leave my house at 10am. But, I guess that’s the price you have to pay when you are dependent on public transportation.

Another thing I learned today is that, along with the BC Ferries rate hikes, the PCL bus also raised their prices. So a one-way trip (including the ferry) from downtown-to-downtown is $40!!! That’s ridiculous. I’m going to seriously have to reconsider taking the regular public transportation bus, instead of the PCL. It’s getting to be too expensive. I just hate public buses. Especially the ones to the ferry. It’s always so crowded and smelly, and everyone has all their bags with them. Plus, I would have to transfer about a million times in order to get myself out there. It doesn’t even really seem worth it. We’ll see.

Tonight I worked 4.5 hrs. at the arena, and afterwards I went out for a few drinks with some friends. That $50 dining out budget is killing me. I think I only have about $12 left! :( But I’m not going home next weekend, and the weekend after that, BF and I are going camping (I think), so in theory, I should be able to pull this off. Although it is only the 12th.

Also today, I got my quarterly GST cheque of $90.50. Going forward, I think I’m only eligible for around $33. :( Oh well. That entire amount will go into my Condo Down Payment Fund.
