BC Ferries has decided to hike their rates. Again. Currently I pay $11.80 for a one-way ticket, and starting April 1st, it will jump to $13 (or $43 for a passenger and car). Awesome. That just means the other ferry service from the island to Vancouver will get my business! Oh … wait. That’s right. There is no other service. BC Ferries is the only passenger ferry between the island and the mainland. Oh, and also, the TSX lost 427.32 points today. But that’s okay. The TSX can continue to be a volatile jerk, and BC Ferries can keep hiking … Continue reading
It’s been a good day today. A very productive day. I got a ton of things accomplished at work, and completed creating and designing my very first newsletter for the organization. It looks pretty sexy, if I do say so myself. The circulation run is around 35,000 … which isn’t very big … but the distribution is province-wide, so that’s pretty cool. Every car that drove by with their window down, I thought they were for sure going to pull a gun and shoot me. Vancouver scares me. I’m always paranoid. But I don’t think I’m overly paranoid. Stuff like this happens all. the. time. in Vancouver. A few days ago, BF told me a story about how a girl was just walking down a road, and some guy grabbed her, dragged her 2 blocks, and then raped and killed her. And … Continue reading
So, I’ve blogged about The Flight of the Conchords before, but this video is golden. I love it. It just completely tears into all of those musicians who write songs about changing the world and how awful humanity is (think John Mayer’s “Waiting on the World to Change”) … it’s one of the funniest songs I’ve heard in a long time.
