monthly challenge
Well, it’s the end of Week 1! For those of you who started with me this week, how did you do? If you write me a little comment, I’ll post it up here. :)
- krystalatwork – successfully packed my lunch for all 5 days. 3 days salad, 1 day bagel, 1 day leftover pizza. It was easier than I had anticipated, but I think it’s because this week has been really busy at work. I worked through every single lunch hour.
- The BF – a co-worker bought him Subway yesterday for lunch (which doesn’t count in this challenge b/c he didn’t buy anything), so other than that, he’s stayed on track. I packed him some of that leftover pizza in his lunch today.
- No More Debt – “I’ve brought my lunch to work every day. The big advantage to bringing a lunch is that I have more time to relax. Yesterday two of my coworkers spent the entire lunch period in the KFC drive-thru and didn’t get to eat their food until later.”
- L – “I haven’t spent anything on eating out, although I did have to turn out an offer for lunch today. I feel a million times better, eating food that’s good for me rather than all that junk food. I’ve probably saved about $60, too!”
- Niki – “Week 1 down! And totally successful! Yay! My plan is to break everything down into 5 days. I’m going to plan the next 5 days every Sunday and the end it will add up to a whole month.”
- Lauren – “Been sick so haven’t even wanted to eat anything, even when I was in the office. Most weeks won’t be like this, unfortunately. I have a fully stocked desk of good healthy snacks and easy to grab lunches in case I forget to bring leftovers or something from home.”
- SavingDiva – “I did okay. Nothing spent, but not a great meal plan. I made a large salad for a potluck on Tuesday. So, I’ve just had salad left overs for the next few days. I have also had a LOT of candy that I brought in to work. Valentine’s candy is the BEST!”
- Michelle – “Thursday was great with nothing spent. Today, however, was difficult, since a huge group in my office went to lunch and I chose not to go. I instead went to the grocery store and bought stuff for lunch for the next two weeks. Hurray for me!!”
- SJean – “I’m currently eating my home packed lunch right now! I made a large batch of “Mediterranean Couscous Salad” on Sunday and ate it every day for lunch (and for dinner once) except Thursday. I get company provided lunch on Thursdays, so I met the challenge.”
- Kate – “Pretty easy, packing lunches and just avoiding walking on the same side of the street as the many convenience stores I used to stop in to occasionally. I’ll be grocery shopping this weekend though to stock up on good stuff for the next few weeks!”
- HouseHopeful – “I only started yesterday, but was successful with packing breakfast, lunch and snack for both days. I even scored a freebie sandwich at work today from meeting leftovers! I also am going to stock up my snack drawer at work.”
- Erika – “It went pretty well. Except one day I packed a tiny lunch. My stubborn self wouldn’t run to pick up a snack, so instead I got fast food after work. But technically I didn’t spend between 8 and 5.”
- Sarah – ” I was a good girl this week :) No lunch out except for today – Grandpa buys dinner every Friday :)”
