I worked 8:30am – 9:30pm today, without a single break – not even for lunch. It’s going to be a tough week, but my boss said this is the most stressful time of the year, and after we get through these next few weeks, it’ll calm down a bit. We have to work Saturday and Sunday as well. Oh, the joys of being a salaried employee. :) I don’t mind though, because I like the work … and I’m slowly getting more and more responsibility. They are pulling projects back from our outside graphic designer, and I’m going to take over – which I think is awesome. I’m also going to start doing photography for them, and a lot of design and desktop publishing. This will save the company a ton of money not having to outsource all of that work. My boss said that this will make a good case that I’ll need an assistant to work under me, to do the tedious tasks that I have to do every day as it is … and when I have my 3-month review, I’m supposed to get a pay raise (as stated in my contract), so hopefully they’ll see the work I’ve been doing in saving the company money.
Anyway, this Friday is the Mika concert at the Orpheum Theatre. I’m so stoked to go. I bought 10th row tickets a few months ago, and BF was supposed to go with me … but he’s not really a fan of Mika, and when my cousin found out I was going, she got so excited that I told her she could go with me if she wanted. I told her not to worry about paying me back for the ticket, so she’s going to treat me to a nice dinner before the concert. She’s coming over on Friday. My first visitor in my new place. I’m kind of excited! I also found out that a few other friends are coming over from the island for the concert as well, so hopefully I’ll be able to meet up with them sometime this weekend. Even though I have to work both Saturday and Sunday. Sigh.
