The eBay selling continues

Well I sold two pairs of shoes and a shirt on eBay over the weekend, and I got a PPP direct opportunity, so I have another $150 to deposit into my bank account.

In the past two weeks or so I’ve made $375 by selling used stuff on eBay and through a few PPP payouts. The BF suggested I try to start up a small eBay side business, where I buy products wholesale and sell them for a profit. It’s a thought, and if the employment situation turns ugly and I find myself without a job for a while, then I’ll definitely consider it. I think eBay is pretty saturated with garbage, and it would be hard to find a product that would really work. Plus, it’s a lot of work, and there are so many small details involved to make it even a viable option. So as of right now, I don’t want to risk the money for the initial investment it would take, and plus I don’t really have a product in mind that I could source out cheaply and sell for a profit.

There are a lot of eBay strategies that I didn’t know about before I started concentrating on selling my stuff. I didn’t really think to have my auction end between 5-9pm … so some of my auctions were ending in the middle of the night, and who’s going to stay up to bid on something they don’t really need? And for a few pairs of jeans, I listed them too cheaply … so they sold cheaply. But when I listed the same item for $10 more, they still sold … and they got more bids than the ones I listed really cheap. I’ll pay more attention to my selling strategy from now on.

I only have one item listed on eBay right now, since I was up island in Duncan this past weekend playing field hockey … so I’ll have to make it a priority to find more items I have and take pictures of them sometime this week.
