Being female is expensive!
Yesterday, SavingDiva was raving about a new mascara she tried, Christian Dior DiorShadow … and since I’m basically in love with mascara, I decided to read up on it and check to see if it was selling on eBay. Well it is. For like $30 a tube before shipping. Yikes! Seeing that price tag left me with online sticker shock.
My make-up breakdown is:
- Mascara – Revlon Luxurious Lengths waterproof ($10)
- Eyeshadow – Elizabeth Arden Bronze Beauty quad ($45, but got it for free)
- Foundation – Lise Watier Teint Mousse Matifiant ($33, but got it for free)
- Powder – Physicians Formula pressed powder ($20, but got it for free)
- Bronzer – Physicians Formula ($20, but got it for free)
I was lucky, because last year I had a stint as a Beauty Advisor, so I got a ton of products for free, plus a bunch of coupons for free products. Since I quit that job, I’ve only had to pay for mascara … but now my make-up stash is running out and I’m going to have to pay for my own stuff. I’ll probably try and find cheap drug store alternatives. :(
