Last week I got an invitation in the mail to go to some seminar about internet marketing. I could bring one guest, there would be lunch provided, and we would each walk away with an MP3 player (on the pamphlet, it showed the iPod shuffle, but it’s probably some cheapo knock off). Anyway, it looked sketchy – like they were just going to talk to us about some pyramid scheme.

I showed it to the BF, and he said we should go. I mean, it’s not like we had any plans anyway. The presentation is only 90 minutes, and we get a free lunch out of it and a free MP3 player, so why not? We aren’t obligated to sign up for anything. So I called the toll-free number and registered us to attend on Saturday for the lunch session. Free is free, after all. Will let you know how it goes.

One of my best friends, her BF is currently living in France for 2-3 years because his company transferred him over there to train the European division of offices (or something like that). He’s back in town for 3 weeks on vacation, so tonight we’re going on a double date at an overpriced restaurant. It was her BF’s choice, and since he just got back into town, we decided to let him pick the place. Both of them aren’t really into ethnic foods like the BF and I are … and the place he chose basically serves run-of-the-mill bar food, just on fancy plates and for double the price. I despise places like that. Oh well, at least their beer is good. It will probably end up costing about $25-30 per person for food alone … but I’m okay with it since I haven’t seen him in over a year, and it’s basically his favourite place to eat.
