One interview down, three more to go …
The interview with Job #1 went well today. Really well. I had a couple of hiccups, but overall I felt confident with my answers, and they made me feel really comfortable. They short-listed 6 people (out of 60 applicants) for initial interviews, and will be holding second interviews in the next two weeks or so. They said they’d let me know sometime next week.
As I was walking downtown after my interview (to go to my hair appointment – the Aveda student ended up doing a fab job!), I checked my voicemail and saw I was called for an interview for another job! I’m sure going to be working weird hours next week to accommodate taking so much time off work to go to these interviews.
Job #4: Communications Officer (interview on June 26) – My dream job right now. If I can’t be working full-time with a professional sports team, this is the next best organization to work for. One of my very good friends also got short-listed for this job. I’m torn because I want to be happy for her, but on the other hand I want this job. A lot. The interview is 3 hours long, and includes a presentation I have to make, a written assignment, and 2 separate interview sessions. I’ve never had such an extensive interview before. Bonus is that one of the people on the interview panel just happens to be someone I’ve been speaking with lately about a design contract he wants me to do for him.
I gotta say, I’m going to be pretty bummed out if I don’t get a job offer from at least one of these places.
