I have a phone interview next Tuesday for a job I applied for a couple of days ago … this time it’s in the field of communications. Hopefully I won’t bomb the interview like I did for that last marketing job I applied for. :) This one’s a permanent position with a 100% Canadian company, health & benefits package, and they also offer an education fund, which is exactly what I’m looking for. It’d be wonderful to find an employer that will be able to help me out with the tuition costs I need to get my B.A.
In the job description, they asked me to state my salary expectations … I hate when they do that! I know someone who got turned down for a job once because he just ignored the fact that they wanted him to state his salary expectations on his cover letter. I had to put something down, so I said something like “[...] an acceptable salary range for this job, based on the description and my research, is $XX,XXX – $XX,XXX, not including benefits or bonuses.” I must not have been too far off if they decided to give me an interview. Unless they’re planning on low-balling me. It’s more of an entry-level job than I have now, but I figure I might as well go for around the same salary I’m making now, since I have the experience and everything. We’ll see!
